The Role

As an Ophthalmic Theatre Nurse, you will play a crucial role in our operating theatre team. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in ophthalmic surgical procedures, ensuring the highest standard of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities

– Assist in ophthalmic surgical procedures, including cataract, Pterygium and Strabismus surgery plus Ocular Plastics , and other ophthalmic surgeries

– Provide pre- and post-operative care to patients undergoing ophthalmic procedures

– Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

– Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients

– Participate in continuous quality improvement activities to enhance patient care and service delivery

About you

– Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand Nursing Council Practicing Certificate

– Current rights to live and work in New Zealand

– Proven recent experience in ophthalmic operating theatre nursing

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

– Excellent English oral and written communication

– Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

This is a full-time position, with the possibility of part-time hours for the right candidate. The role involves working on a rostered basis between 7am and 7pm, Monday to Friday.
