Hepatology, Liver transplantation
Dominic’s undergraduate training in medicine was at the University of London, qualifying in 1990. He subsequently trained in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Manchester and Sheffield before undertaking a fellowship in liver transplantation at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. On returning to the UK he was a consultant in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield. In 2005, Dominic took up a consultant post at North Shore Hospital before moving to the New Zealand Liver Transplant Unit in 2015 where he is currently the unit’s Service Clinical Director. Dominic has been in private practice on the North Shore since 2006.
While Dominic’s particular interest is in Hepatology and Liver Transplantation he is highly experienced in managing the full spectrum of Gastroenterological conditions, including functional bowel disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease, dyspepsia and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. He is also a skilled endoscopist, carrying out diagnostic and therapeutic procedures of both the upper and lower gastrointestinal tracts.
Dominic has lived in the East Coast Bays with his wife and three children since moving to New Zealand. In addition to enjoying the great beaches and cafes of the North Shore, he has a keen interest in cricket, motorsport and current affairs.
