Psychological Impacts of Vision Loss
Learning outcomes:

  • Awareness that anxiety and depression can be associated with ocular diseases and vision loss
  • Impact of vision loss on daily activities including driving and the impact this can have on patients
  • Measures a GP can take to help patients who have significant vision loss

Retinal Toxicity of Systemic Medication – Part 1: Hydroxychloroquine
Learning outcomes:

  • An understanding of Hydroxychloroquine monitoring
  • When to screen and what happens at screening visits
  • To discuss the features of retinal toxicity associated with Hydroxychloroquine

Retinal Toxicity of Systemic Medication – Part 2: Other Drugs
Learning outcomes:

  • To highlight potential retinal side effects of several systemic drugs
  • To discuss monitoring and management of such adverse reactions
  • To recognise when adverse reactions may necessitate cessation of systemic treatment

Periocular Tumours
Learning outcomes:

  • When to consider surgery for benign periocular lesions
  • Able to differentiate malignant tumours from benign lesions
  • Learn to appreciate importance of using investigative tools
